Jacob’s Ladder—the Senior High Youth Group will be meeting each Sunday evening in the Youth Room from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.    We will be studying “Experiencing Christ Together.”  An intimate look at Christ in us and through us. How do we live Christ in our everyday lives?  Join us and bring your friends.

Middle School Youth Group – meets in the McMillan Room during the same time.  Brooke Cashman and Jeff Bader lead.  They will be studying the characteristics of God like Compassion, Faithfulness, Forgiveness, Friendship, Honesty, Humanity, Leadership, Love, Obedience, Patience, Self Discipline and Spirituality.  As they study each of God’s character attributes, they will also study the saints who most closely personified these characteristics and how we too can live in these characteristics of God through the Holy Spirit.

  Murder Mystery Weekend at Ogleby
November 1-3rd, 2008

The first week in November—the 1, 2, and 3rd—both youth groups will be going to Ogleby Park for a Murder Mystery Weekend.  Each person will be assigned a character and they must dress up and remain in character the entire weekend, until we figure out “WHODUNIT.” It will be a fun-filled weekend to kick off the new youth groups and a time to get to know each other.  All youth are welcome to join us!

This intensive missions weekend will continue our working partnership with the Polaris Project—the organization that was founded to combat human trafficking. Jacob’s Ladder did their YMI Video Challenge last year on this project. This year, during a weekend in November, we will go to Washington, D.C. to volunteer at the Polaris Project. We will help clean and paint the Nightingale Center for victims. We will answer phones and make phone calls to encourage Congress to pass the new Federal Trafficking Victims Protection Act. We will receive training on how to recognize and set up a grass roots movement to combat human trafficking. We will visit a Congressional Session to speak out in favor of the Senate Bill. We will hopefully (if clearance is accepted) tour the White House and meet President Bush before he leaves office. We will then tour Washington, D.C. Parents are invited and encouraged to join us on this historic missions trip!
